| Abstract | Infectious diseases, especially by bacteria are the main cause of losses in breeding laboratories, but fungi also reduce the production of fry. This study evalueted the effects of L-threonine supplementation on growth performance, behavior and mucus production in tilapia fingerlings challenged by Saprolegnia infestans. 378 fish were randomly distributed in 21 aquariums and fed for four weeks with diets containing different levels of supplementation of threonine, 0,00 kg and 0,111g-1After the feeding period with treatments fish were challenged with Saprolegnia infestans. The treatments did not affect the performance, there was an increase in body surface area of fish supplemented (p = 0.0061). All fish aquariums presented with classic symptoms of injuries Saprolegnia. The mucus production in all treatments increased after infection but only supplemented the treatment she remained high until the end. These results reveal is recommended to threonine supplementation in conditions challenge by Saprolegnia. Key-words: Saprolegnia infestans. Immununutrition. Nutrtional requirement. Fish nutrition.
