| Abstract | Physicians in their work have right to choose from many ways of proper treatment. Considering in this context the conscience clause, there are some limits set by the law. It is obvious that the freedom in making this kind of decisions cannot be more important than the well-being of the patient. Therefore the question arises whether such moral foundations may be changed together with the progress of medicine. It seems inevitable; hence, the legislative body introduces reg ulations such as the conscience clause in order to adapt to the constant changes. This clause, however, cannot be absolute and it includes its own limitations in order to keep the balance between the human welfare and the physician’s ethical rules. |
