| Abstract | Densities, viscosities, and refractive indices of the ternary system N,N-dimethylacetamide (1) + 2-methylbutan-2-ol (2) + ethyl acetate (3) at T = 298.15 K and the binary systems N,N-dimethylacetamide (1) + 2-methylbutan-2-ol (2), N,N-dimethylacetamide (1) + ethyl acetate (3), and 2-methylbutan-2-ol (2) + ethyl acetate (3) were measured at T = 298.15 K for the liquid region and at ambient pressure for the whole composition range. Excess molar volumes (V E), deviations in the viscosity (Δη) from the mole fraction average, and deviations in the refractive index (ΔnD) from the volume fraction average for the mixtures were derived from the experimental data. The binary and ternary data of V E, Δη, and ΔnD were correlated as a function of the mole fraction by using the Redlich−Kister and the Cibulka equations, respectively. The results are consistent with the self-association of alcohol and the polar and nonpolar characters of used ester and amide. McAlister's multibody and Kalidas−Laddha interaction model are... |
