| Abstract | What drew me to teaching many years ago was the opportunity it provided to renurture myself as a learner. With children I "relearned" things I once had been taught but never quite fully understood. Surrounded by their wonder and uninhibited curiosity, questions awakened within me that I previously had been unaware I even had. With each pursuit, I learned a bit more about how to help others inquire about the world. Soon I was "hooked" on being a teacher. It opened up a world of learning for me more powerful than I had ever imagined. That is what motivates me now to teach teachers – to help others experience the passion of learning so that they can do the same for the children who have been entrusted to their care. |
