Abstract	The succession rights of the widowed spouse are not uniform throughout the Spanish, even in some autonomous communities as in the Balearic Islands. The widowed spouse does not have inalienable succession rights in Ibiza/Formentera. In the Civil Code, these rights are conditioned by legal separation or separation in fact of marriage. In Mallorca /Menorca, these rights are conditioned not only by legal separation or de facto separation of marriage, it can also be determining who to blame for the separation.
