| Abstract | The purpose of the current research is to understand the syncretic processes involved in the identities of the northern border of Mexico and use literature as a vehicle for it. The theoretical and methodological perspectives of this work are found in interdisciplinarity, using the Cultural Studies, in particular, those related to the study of identities, and also, using semiotics as a method for the analysis of the text. The northern border of Mexico is a container of diversity, similarities and antagonistic realities that have identified this space as a region marked by social inequality, contradiction and, in particular, syncretism and hybridization. In this sense, the pages of Luis Humberto Crosthwaite are a network of meanings that contribute to create a new theoretical perspective for social studies focused on cultural processes in the Mexican north border. |
