La repressió dels eclesiàstics absolutistes lleidatans al Trienni Liberal: el cas del bisbe Renteria

Abstract	El bisbe Simon Renteria y Reyes va ocupar la Mitra de la diocesi de Lleida durant el periode 1819-1824. Al Trienni Liberal Renteria va esdevenir un eix molt important de l'absolutisme a la ciutat de Lleida ja que va oposar-se notablement a les reformes legislatives liberals, defensant una clara tendencia al conservadorisme i al tradicionalisme dins de l'ambit del pensament politic. Per aquest motiu va protestar contra les noves lleis i Decrets del govern liberal i va enviar tot un seguit de cartes i oficis amb l'objectiu de capgirar la politica de les Corts Constitucionals. Fruit d'aquesta oposicio al regim liberal les autoritats lleidatanes el van expulsar de la ciutat. Tambe altres membres de l'Esglesia van patir, en diferent grau, la repressio del poder liberal. Amb el retorn un altre cop de l'absolutisme a finals de l'any 1823 els religiosos que s'havien mantingut fidels al tradicionalisme van rebre diverses recompenses. / El obispo Simon Renteria y Reyes ocupo la Mitra de la diocesi de Lleida durante el periodo 1818- 1824. Durante el Trienio Liberal, Renteria constituyo un eje muy importante del absolutismo en la ciudad ya que se opuso con notoriedad a las reformas legislativas liberales, denfendiendo una clara tendencia al conservadurismo y al tradicionalismo dentro del ambito del pensamiento politico. Por este motivo protesto contras las nuevas leyes y Decretos del gobierno liberal y envio cartas y oficios con el objetivo de dar un giro a la politica de las Cortes Constitucionalistas. Fruto de esta oposicion al regimes liberal las autoridades de la ciudad lo expulsaron. Tambien otros miembros de la Iglesia sufrieron, en distinto grado, la represion del poder liberal. Con el retorno del absolutismo a finales del ano 1823 los religiosos que se havian mantenido fieles al tradicionalismo recibieron diversas recompensas. / Bishop Simon Renteria y Reyes occupied the bishopric of the diocese of Lleida during the period from 1819 to 1824. In the liberal Triennium Renteria one became a very important axis of absolutism in the city of Lleida because one remarkably was against the liberal legislative reforms, defending a clear tendency to conservadurism and to the traditionalism in the space of the political thought. For this reason, it protested against new laws and decrees of liberal government and sent letters and offices with the objective to give the return to the policy of the constitutional government. Fruit of this opposition to the regime liberals the local authorities expelled it from the city; also, other members of the church underwent the repression of the liberal power. With the return of absolutism at the end of the year the 1823 monks who they were had maintained faithful to the traditionalism obtained again diverse you compensate.
