| Abstract | In this work we study beer within the framework of European prehistory, focusing on the findings produced in the Iberian Peninsula, corresponding to the third millennium cal BC, specifically in the northern Subplateau, for reasons of space. The presence of beer has been confirmed thanks to the advancement of current techniques, which have allowed the identification of the residues adhered to the inner walls of the ceramic vessels. This has come to support the various theories claiming the relationship between alcohol and the Beaker phenomenon, which has led us to offer an interpretation of the role that this alcoholic beverage may have had within the Beaker culture, mainly during the funeral ceremonies. |
