| Abstract | The following work present, through a literature review, some information about cup feeding and bottle feeding use in preterm infants. This study is important since has many doubts about the best way to offer supplemental feeding to preterm infants. It was going accomplished the bibliographical rising in the LILACS, MEDLINE and SCIELLO databases, using the terms feeding, preterm, artificial feeding, cup, scientific evidence about cup feeding and bottle feeding in neonatal units in newborn preterm. We use articles between 1990 and 2012. We searched all articles that referred to cup feeding and bottle feeding in preterm and fullterm. Theses, books and book chapters were excluded. This study is important since there are still many questions about how best to provide supplementary feeding to newborn preterm. |
