| Abstract | Abstract: ZnO nanoparticles are capable of enhancing the physical abilities of different materials due to its many properties, including their photocatalytic and antibacterial activity and their UV protection. In this work, ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by the Pechini method, varying the calcination time and temperature. These nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron miscroscopy (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In every synthesis process ZnO in the zincite form was obtained, with a minimum effective diameter of about 23 nm, for a process with calcination at 700°C for 3 h. Correlation coefficients greater than 0,98 were obtained for all syntheses, by comparing the FTIR spectrum against a ZnO commercial sample. |
