For c u r r i c u lu m development , such in fo rm a t io n would be u s e fu l in p r o v id i n g e x p e r i e n c e s a p p ea l in g t o t h e g r e a t e r d i v e r s i t y among t h e s t u d e n t s . C l e a r l y , c l a s s e s were not as homogeneous with t h e i n f l u x o f women and m i n o r i t y s t u d e n t s as compared t o c l a s s e s of medical s t u d e n t s from th e 1 9 4 0 ' s and 1 9 5 0 ' s . Awareness of t h e s e d i f f e r e n c e p lu s t h e r a p i d l y growing use of e d u c a t io n a l t e c h n o lo g y in medical schoo ls o f f e r e d many o p p o r t u n i t i e s f o r s t u d e n t s t o a s s i m i l a t e m a t e r i a l in t h e mode o f p r e f e r e n c e .
