| Abstract | By one hand, the income of the poor increased substantially throughout the last years caused, mainly, by the decreasing of income inequality, increasing the well-being of this group. By the other hand, the tariffs of electric energy had increased more than proportionally for this group and, therefore, this increase of well-being was, somehow, limited for the increase of the cost of the electricity for these families. The main objective of this study is to evaluate if the increase in the tariffs of electric energy impact more the poorest, causing a loss of their wellbeing.
