| Abstract | The digital mapping with Geoprocessing is of inestimable value in the environmental management, being currently used on a large scale, objectifying to also contain and to foresee environmental impacts, serving as subsidy to the public power in the execution of projects of economic development, therefore it is a tool that possess high level of precision and that it allows to carry through inquiries and experiments. Activities developed without planning in the study area and without taking in account the behavior of the ecosystem and its capacity of support come causing environmental impacts in a faster speed. Ahead of this problematic accomplishment of this work it has as objective the geoenvironmental mapping through images of high resolution (IKONOS II, 2004) of the estuary of Ceara-Mirim river in Rio Grande do Norte state, Brasil. |
