| Abstract | This interesting and well written paper presents an energy balance based stream temperature model and comparison of the model results with data obtained from fiber optic temperature measurements. The fiber optic measurement technique is very new and allows for measurements at spatial and temporal scales that were previously impossible. This paper is therefore of great interest to the hydrologic community. The authors show how this technique can be used to identify groundwater inflows and how important these inflows are for an accurate stream temperature model. |
