| Abstract | Knowledge transfer is considered an integral part of the overall new product development (NPD) process. Strategic management of knowledge transfer is considered a critical issue for NPD performance improvements (Nobeoka and Cusumano, 1995). Literature suggests that despite the important role played by knowledge transfer in NPD, a majority of organizations find it difficult to link it to performance improvements (Lullies, 2000). We take a novel approach for understanding the impact of knowledge transfer on NPD performance. A conceptual framework linking knowledge transfer, NPD performance determinants, and NPD performance is developed in the paper. |
