| Abstract | This study aims to find a relationship between climate change discourse, global politics and policies of Ecuador on adaptation to climate change. The central problem and focus of the study is the human influence on climate change to determine what possible actions that could be taken internationally and nationally. Constructivist theory of international relations is used as the central theory to determine the importance of non-material factors when creating discourse. The work of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) will be taken into account, specifically its program Adaptation Policy on Climate Change. Subsequently, the work of the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador will be analyzed in terms of adaptation to climate change taking into account the National Directory on this issue. Then the study will proceed with an analysis involving similarities, differences and failures of global politics and national policy in relation to the central problem of the thesis. Finally , the study results will be presented, including answers to the research question and the level of influence of the climate change discourse both in global politics and policies of Ecuador in how the problem is determined . |
