| Abstract | This work is part of the research line named Formative Processes, Difference and Values, being set up by exploring instructional materials built to guide teachers' class work on the subject of sexuality. The researched material, were developed by public institutions of higher education as a response to federal policies bid by the Department of Continuing Education, Literacy and Diversity (SECAD / MEC), launched from 2004 to May 2007. The objective of this thesis lays on investigating whether reproductive rights are addressed and specifically how they are treated and understood on the issues of reproductive technologies, conceptive and contraceptive and abortion in textbooks produced especially for this purpose. For so, this study conducted a qualitative research, which combines Bakhtin s socio-historical and cultural framework to the technique of data triangulation. The corpus of the study corresponded to SECAD s Book 4, the bid references and educational materials developed by eight projects funded, as well as secondary sources such as books and articles on the topics studied. The analysis undertaken crossed the content of the material to one another so that we could understand which meanings and themes converged and which. Finally, we performed the comparison between the assumptions set out the bid s references and the forms of expression and achievement in learning materials investigated. The findings pointed to the forceful incorporation of reproductive rights in the announcement Education and Teenage Pregnancy, unlike the other two bids. The issues of (non) reproductive technology and abortion were not mentioned explicitly in the bids, although it was considered that the terms of reference of the announcement Education and Teenage Pregnancy, by virtue of their goals, both found themselves embraced. The examination of educational materials has noted that the schematization of reproductive rights became so sparse or even null, the best examples referrers to the possibility of actions that deal with sexuality in schools. In turn, questions about pregnancy and contraceptive methods were practically absent in the theoretical chapters, but presents the suggestions of activities with students. Since the technological concepts hasn t appeared in any materials, although parts of these materials could be used to address the issue. Since abortion was occasionally discussed by the teenage pregnancy and amongst the suggestions for activities that, in most cases, returned to the "trial" of the matter. Thus, we believed that such thesis can contribute to other researchers intending to build educational material aligned with the perspective of reproductive rights as an important part of human rights, for use in both teacher training courses and class work in the sex education issue for several levels of education. Key-words: Reproductive Rights. School Education. Teacher Training. Reproductive Technologies. Abortion. |
