| Abstract | The messages emitted during election campaign on YouTube have a strong propagandistic nature as issuing an instance of power because they are sent by different parties. These messages serve to get voters in order to gain elections. This research focuses on the application of a model for the semiotic analysis of propaganda videos. This model is applied to seventy eight YouTube ́s videos created by the two major political parties in Spain; Partido Socialista Obrero Español and Partido Popular. Timing is determined by the 2011 election campaign. This paper is based on the study of all these videos. We use a coding sheet summary to determine propaganda types and all their components. |
