| Abstract | The need to create and join forces to deal with the global and developed environment has led that countries seek ways to integrate and become part of an economic bloc, whose main objective is to contribute to the development of its members. Ecuador is part of the Andean Community, which has created both advantages and disadvantages for its economic, political and social life during the period from 1969 to 2007, which is why our fundamental thesis objective has been highlight the role of trade liberalization in the country's economic growth during this period and conclude whether or not to continue its participation in the CAN. So that we have used the Cobb-Douglas function, estimated an econometric model based on the Test Root Single and analyzed the cointegration of variables which has set that the CAN has not reported the outcome expected for the Ecuadorian economy, a result that leads to the development of a new work schedule that increases the country's economic growth by incorporating strategies for integration with another economic blocs whose primary objective is aimed at improving economic, political and social life. |
