| Abstract | We present some results of a survey among students of the 1st year of an undergraduate course in mathematics, in which we sought to analyze the influence of GeoGebra software in the geometrics statements prepared by the undergraduates. We initially discuss some considerations on the teaching and learning of geometry, and turn our attention to the use of dynamic geometry software. The study areas of polygonal regions, particularly the parallelogram, is what we bring to the fore in this work; however, we focus on geometrical proofs prepared by the students at first, and afterwards they perform a task using GeoGebra. In the analysis we sought evidence of the influence of the software on the demonstrations prepared by them. Although students do not have to work out many details in preparing their demonstrations, we can infer that some of those were presented due to the fact that they had experienced using GeoGebra. We signal, therefore, that there is need to involve undergraduate students in using this dynamic geometry software in order to contribute to the elaboration of geometrical proofs. |
