| Abstract | Far wake of wind turbines located in atmospheric boundary layer flows is characterized by a velocity deficit and turbulence production overs hundreds meters downstream of the rotor. Additionnally, large scale atmospheric turbulent eddies generate non periodic trajectory variation called meandering. The objective of the experiments described here is to inquire whether the wake unsteady behaviour can actually be described as a passive tracer of the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) large scale turbulence. The phenomenon is not well described so far, whereas it must be taken into account in wake interaction models. The physical modelling in wind tunnel is the tool chosen by the Laobratory PRISME to study this issue. It consists in reproducing at reduced scale a neutral atmospheric boundary layer and the wind turbine rotor. Unsteady behavior of the far-wake is then studied trough multi-point hot wire rake and PIV. Mots clefs : sillage lointain ; turbulence atmospherique ; soufflerie |
