| Abstract | The main objective of this study is to report the development of stand-up pouch since its origins in France in 1962 until the present time, highlighting the highest point of his application, which took place just after the fall of the patent, in the 80s, and reinforced by a environmental pressure in order to replace the rigid packaging to reduce the amount of plastic material. This packaging is user friendly for consumers and for the industries, and can be found in various formats Thanks to its flexibility it is possible to add accessories, such as rings, zippers, straws, etc. Based on his mains characteristics the Stand-up pouch has lower costs, higher barrier, good selling properties, mechanicals structures, transparency (full or partial), innovative design, are easy to be handle at filling lines (manually or automatically), easy to open, and others benefits that can be found on the text. |
