| Abstract | Environmental Sanitation and Public Health: an Interface for the Quality of Life and for the Sustainable Development Resumo : O presente estudo nao nega a importância da abordagem disciplinar na construcao do conhecimento sobre o real. Todavia, este se fez mediante um dialogo interdisciplinar entre as ciencias da saude e as ciencias ambientais, pois a superacao da complexa realidade socioambiental do pais tende a atenuar os problemas atinentes a saude publica ja que a degradacao ambiental se posta como um elemento indutor de doencas e, portanto, ocasiona a degradacao psicossocial. Assim, a abordagem central deste estudo se fez norteada pela perspectiva epistemologica interdisciplinar, pois o dialogo entre saberes e essencial para o entendimento sistemico que permeia o ambiental e a saude publica. Para tanto, esta inter-relacao se faz nos exiguos espacos da vida humana, porem a abordagem deste artigo se atem ao meio urbano, pois as acoes antropicas na urbe a configuram como o local onde a falta de saneamento e um eficiente vetor de patologias infectocontagiosas. Abstract : The present study does not deny the importance of an approach based on the subject for the development of the knowledge about the real. However, this knowledge is made through an interdisciplinary dialogue between the health and the environmental sciences, once the surpassing of the complex social and environmental reality of the country is a phenomenon that attenuates the problems related to the public health, considering that the environmental degradation is a factor that leads to the development of sicknesses and consequently to the psychosocial degradation. Taking this reality into consideration, the central approach of this study was based on the interdisciplinary epistemological perspective, once the dialogue between the different areas of knowledge is essential for the systemic understanding that is involved in the environmental and public health issues. For that, this interrelation is built in the exiguous spaces of the human life. However, the approach of this article is restricted to the urban space, because the anthropic actions in the city turn it into a place where the lack of sanitation becomes an efficient vector to infect-contagious pathologies.
