| Abstract | RESUMEN: Tras dos decadas de estudios sobre el poder municipal y las oligarquias urbanas en la Galicia moderna, parece llegado el momento de hacer un alto en el camino para valorar los hallazgos y pensar en nuevas lineas de investigacion. Tal es el objetivo de este articulo, donde la autora se plantea realizar un balance critico de la produccion historiografia sobre el tema. Para ello empieza ofreciendo un breve estado de la cuestion, donde senala algunas de las principales lineas de trabajo y problemas implicitos a una produccion diversificada en metodos y planteamientos. Despues, trata de calibrar los logros y aportaciones de las principales investigaciones, prestando una especial atencion a las monografias y tesis de doctorado leidas durante estos anos. Y, finalmente, expone algunas reflexiones en torno a aquellos aspectos y campos de investigacion que, en su opinion, urgen o pueden estar llamados a prosperar en el futuro. ABSTRACT: After two decades of studies regarding local power and the urban oligarchy in modern Galicia, the time has come to make a pause to evaluate de findings and to consider new paths for research. This constitutes the aim of this article, where the author's purpose is to make a critical balance of the history research about this subject. Starting with a brief introduction resuming the advances made in the field, pointing out some of the lines of work and the problems raised by a diversified production in terms of methods and approaches of the subject. The author then attempts to evaluate the achievements and the contributions of the most important research work up to date, with a special emphasis on the monographs and doctorate thesis presented throughout the years, to finish with some considerations regarding those aspects, hypothesis and research fields which, in her opinion, need to be developed further or may constitute important paths of investigation in the future. |
