| Abstract | Surgery in Traumatology is currently a real public health problem given the high frequency of accidents and incidents, it is an essentially functional and painful surgery. The management of postoperative pain has been the subject of many texts, including the Consensus Conference on "Management of Postoperative Pain for Adults and Children" by the French Society of Anesthesia and resuscitation (SFAR) since 1997 updated in 2008, then in 2014. Our objective was to evaluate the role of PARECOXIB in the management of the POP in traumatological and orthopedic surgery, to present its pharmacological characteristics and to define its place in postoperative rehabilitation. This was a transversal study for analytical purposes conducted between November 2017 and April 2018 at the TLEMCEN CHU OTR service. In our study, 70 operated patients had received a postoperative analgesia protocol out of a total of 350 patients, a frequency of 20%, which is quite important compared with other analgesic techniques performed in the OTR. The intensity of the pain was assessed by the visual analogue scale (VAS) during the first 48 hours. The age group between 15 and 35 years old was predominantly (58.5%) with a male predominance, while the predominant female group was between 56 and 80 years old. 55.7% of our population was classified as ASA I and 44.3% of patients had at least one medical history; mainly hypertension and diabetes. Our PARECOXIB analgesic protocol was effective in 64 patients. Postoperative complications remained minimal. Rapid rehabilitation was provided by 32.9 % with a return home at 03 days. this figure of Parecoxib analgesia performed is satisfactory but a broader study is desirable. |
