| Abstract | There are countless resources provided by forests and other plant formations of the Cerrado biome, such as fruits, seeds, bark, roots, leaves, oils. These non-timber forest products are the extraction and use widely practiced by most traditional rural populations, are important sources of nutrients and / or income. The objective of this study was to estimate fruit production, pulp and the potential income from the sale of two native species of the Cerrado, jatoba ( Hymenaea stigonocarpa ) and pequi ( Caryocar brasiliense ) . The density of trees per hectare was 57 for jatoba and 19 of pequi. The total number of fruit found in 60 demarcated subjects was 562 jatoba and 5,176 of pequi and, from current data in local markets, the income is estimated R$ 447,35 to jatoba and R$ 1,195.66 to pequi. |
