| Abstract | By the reaction of cyanogen with 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol in the presence of a base catalyst, bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,2-diiminoethane (1) is obtained. 1 can be easily cyclized with halides to yield five-membered ring compounds. Triethylamine serves as an HCl-acceptor. The building elements of the rings are S 2, 3, Se 4, P 5 and As 6, respectively. 5 reacts with Mg to form the diphosphane 7. |
