| Abstract | The present research aimed to study the relationship between the audiovisual ways and the English language skills. The general problem was to determine what the relationship is between the audiovisual ways and the English language skills in the area of English in high school students of the Public Educational Institution Nuestra Señora del Carmen. The research method was the hypothetic-deductive, the type of basic research and the descriptive correlational level. The research sample consisted of 50 high school students from an educational institution in the district of Cercado de Lima. The technique that was applied was the Questionnaire to measure audiovisual ways and the English language skills. When processing the data of the audiovisual ways variable that presents the following dimensions: visual ways, acoustic ways and audiovisual ways, of the 50 students surveyed, 20% of the respondents presents a level of the use of the audiovisual ways is deficient, while the 70% shows an regular level, finally 10% have a high level of the use of the audiovisual ways. So it can be affirmed that the use of the audiovisual ways at Nuestra Señora del Carmen School, 2016 is regular. On the other hand, the development of the English Language skills, which has the dimensions: speaking, listening, reading and writing; the results indicate the development is in a process level, because 66% of students are at this level. The results of the research showed that there is high positive relationship between the audiovisual ways and the English language skills, with Spearman's Rho value of 0.530. |
