| Abstract | Human nature is the desire to interact with other humans. Social media is currently very instrumental in the process of human interaction, especially adolescents as the largest user in Indonesia. Self-esteem is used as a measuring tool to find out how someone interacts with their environment. This study used to knowing the relationship between the level of social media addiction and the level of self-esteem with social interactions in adolescents of Batik 2 Surakarta Senior High School. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross sectional approach. The study sample was taken from a population that had met the restriction criteria, namely 93 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling. The results of the study were analyzed bivariately by chi-square test and multivariate with logistic regression. The results of the study were 93 respondents. Biavariate analysis of chi-square test variable level of social media addiction with social interaction obtained non-significant results with p value = 0.360 which means there is no relationship. From the same respondents, the bivariate analysis of the chi-square test showed that the level of variable self-esteem with social interaction showed a significant value with a value of p = 0.018 which means there is a relationship. So the conclusion is level of self-esteem has a relationship with social interaction in adolescents of Batik 2 Surakarta Senior High School. |
