| Abstract | The current investigation was intended to propose a trekking route within the limits of Cotopaxi, Pichincha, Santo Domingo and Los Ríos provinces, based on its bio-cultural heritage intended to promote tourist activity through the design of an ecotouristic route in the Los Ilinizas Ecologic Reserve (REI). The study was based on a documentary and field investigation, of transversal cohort, in accordance to proposed objective, a diagnosis of the current status of the reserve was made, taking into account local infrastructure, tourist resources and tourist plant. For the technical design of the route, technology implemented by MINETUR was used, based on a survey applied as an instrument. For that purpose, two groups of samples were selected, 60.8% of surveyed subjects have visited the REI, 62% preferred trekking as an eco-touristic activity, and the proposed route got 80% acceptation, for the national and foreigner tourist. Additionally, interview to specialists in topics associated to the REI agreed with those obtained from surveys, In conclusion, the proposed route is feasible to be executed in the REI as a management category. |
