| Abstract | Given the uncertainty of peace as a need for societies, the academy has developed the task of conceptualizing this reality, and to that extent measures must be taken to materialize it. For its part, the kitchen is perhaps the first artistic and cultural expression that the human being has, and until today, a point of view has been developed that deserves special attention, because it is from the most intimate moment of the day where is possible to build society, therefore, peace. This research is presented as the opportunity to explore the social dynamics that occur daily in the practices of cooking and food consumption, and find in them a favorable context for the construction of imperfect peace, a dynamic and permanent construction process. Thus, the main objective is to interpret how imperfect peace defines the social relationships that emerge in food contexts shared by a group of women from the municipality of Floridablanca. The reader will find a qualitative hermeneutical study, where through the interpretation of data collected in semi-structured interviews, a discussion group and participant observation, multiple understandings are opened about these human practices, understood as social constructions that are created and reproduced through of language. From there, the practice of cooking, stands out as an act of altruism, service and collaboration, and feeding moments as propitious scenarios for communication, generosity and harmony. Positioning the feeding contexts as scenarios of empowerment, self-determination and the construction of peace. |
