| Abstract | THE BLACKFLIES OF NORTH-AFRICA. NEW DATA ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE FAUNA OF MORROCO AND BIOGEOGRAPHY OF THE MAGHREBIAN SPECIES (DIPTERA, SIMULIIDAE) Twenfy species of Simuliidae were recorded in several regions of Morroco. The High Aflas showed fhe highesf specific diversify on accounf of fhe presence of cold-wafer Springs and high altitude torrents. The geographical analysis of Maghreb shows fhaf we are essenfially dealing wifh a palearcfic fauna of a wesf or circum-mediferranean distribution, reaching ifs soufhern geographical limif. Efhiopian and oriental elemenfs are poorly represenfed. Some Norfh African species are endemic or penefrafe weakly in Europa fhrough fhe Soufh-Wesf. |
