| Abstract | The safety culture study is extremely important in the construction sector once the existence of an effective safety culture will result in reduced accidents rates. This study main goal was to test the organizational practices of safety, hygiene and health, safety group climate and perception of training transfer influences on safety behaviors and satisfaction with safety. This research included 582 individuals from various companies in the construction industry, these companies are located in the region of Lisbon and Tagus Valley. Data was collected using self-report questionnaire that was part of a diagnosis conducted in a pre-training phase. The variables were operationalized using previously validated questionnaires. The main conclusions drawn throughout the results analysis emphasize the influence of safety group climate and the perception of previous training transfer in the safety behaviors, and the safety policy is the only organizational practices of safety, hygiene and health that influence compliance behaviors. Satisfaction with safety is affected by safety training and supervisor pro-active and actives practices, and the perceived transfer of previous training. |
