| Abstract | According to the literature and empirical evidence, the productive structure of any economy, and its specialization, plays an important role to understand the production and population growth. In Spain, from 1955 to 1997, there are two regions where the GNP and population have increased more than in the others: the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands. Besides, the basis of their economy is the services sector, especially the hospitality. |
