Abstract	Purpose – The aim of the article is to assess the condition of the Polish banking sector against the background of the banking sectors in the euro zone, in the light of the stress tests.. Design/methodology/approach – The uniform methodology for assessing the financial condition of European banks used both in a stress test as the ECB and the EBA, is the ideal supervisory tool that can be used in comparative analyzes of banks / banking sectors. Findings – In EBA study, the Polish banking sector was regarded as one of the safest sectors in the EU and was classified in third position, second only to Luxembourg and Sweden. keywords: stress test, banks, financial stability
