Pulpotomia em saúde pública: Avaliação da técnica empregada nos serviços odontológicos da 9ª Coordenadoria Regional de Saúde,RS

Abstract	Introduction: The pulpotomy is a conservative treatment that consist in removal of the coronary pulp aiming the permanence of dental element, having significance in the social context. Objectives: The purpose of this research was to evaluate the pulpotomy technique utilized in dental services public of the 9a Coordenadoria Regional de Saude-RS and to examine the sociodemographic variables influences and of decision-making by dentists in this technique. The research design is transversal type, and the data collection by a questionary sent to the dentists of 12 cities, totalizing 37 professionals. Material e method: The results showed have significative association between the pulpotomy and the university type (p=0.031). Results: With regard to variables relatives to the take decision, had associated their outcome: to do endodontic treatment in the service (p=0.037), to agree with the pulpotomy tecnhique (p=0.007), to think viable to implement the tecnhique in the service (p<0.000), existence of continuance of the bucal programs in the city (p=0.004) and the duration of pulpotomy technique (p=0.034). Conclusion: In conclusion, the majority of the professionals of 9a CRS-RS make the pulpotomy tecnhique in dental services public, thinking this viable to be executed, even without ideal conditions. The independent variables had influence in the pulpotomy.
