| Abstract | Large and small excitatory junctional potentials (Iand s-EJPs) can be recorded intracellularly from the same muscle fibers of cricket abdominal musdes. An N-type Ca *+ channel blocker, O-conotoxin GVIA, did not afffect the amplitude of land S-UPS, but a P-type Ca*+ channel blocker, o-agatoxin IVA, reduced the amplitude of both EJPs dose-dependently in the range of 10m8 -lo6 M. The reducing effect of the toxin at a given concentration was dependent upon [Ca*+ lo, the effect being smaller at higher [Ca*+ I,. |
