| Abstract | The article presents the results of research and analysis on stylistic transformations religious architecture, the example of Catholic sacred buildings, built in the Archdiocese of Cracow, in the 70s and 80s of the twentieth century. It highlights key issues of architectural and compositional religious buildings, realized in different spatial situations and against ongoing socio-economic and political issues. During this period, the Archdiocese of Cracow 126 church buildings were erected. In connection with the aforementioned embodiments selective scheduling, based on the implementation of the most valuable stylistically distinctive in terms of aesthetic qualities and most representative of the area – subdivision. Studies and research, also supported by photographic documentation, archival, direct observation in the field of spatial structure and building solutions and construction-material, formed the basis for the present transformation of the spatial structure of church buildings, the diversity of architectural solutions, modern church architecture. The rapid development of religious architecture after 1975 years was associated with a great diversity of shapes and solutions religious bodies, based on a variety of plans. Principles of new forms of religious art, have become the result of freedom and liberty we have left developers determine the post-conciliar, especially the renewal of the liturgy, and prevailing in our country’s social, economic and political. By analyzing the most representative realizations of modern religious buildings in the Archdiocese of Cracow we can see the desire to shape dynamic and contrasting shapes, representing a new value in the space around them. |
