| Abstract | Externally bonded FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic o Fiber Reinforced Polymers) reinforcement for RC structures is a new techniques for structural strengthening. The reasons why composites are increasingly used as strengthening materials are: low weight, high tensile strength and the possibility to design a specific reinforcing material. To guarantee the overall structural safety of the strengthened member is important that the proper FRP EBR strengthening systems are used and correctly designed. The software we are presenting in this paper has been developed on the FIB Bulletin 14 specifications, it can be used on Internet, so it’s platform independent, available everywhere an Internet connection exists and it’s available only in the most recent version. It’s a tool for the design of the reinforced sections and a tool to evaluate which kind of FRP system is more useful. With this software is possible to calculate the bending moment capacity at the ultimate limit state and the ductility of reinforced rectangular and T cross sections. It’s possible to calculate the tension of all the materials of the cross sections, to evaluate the failure mechanism, to evaluate the position of the neutral axes and to compare the reinforced section with the ones not reinforced. |
