| Abstract | Public policies in Colombia have advances in their design and implementation in relation to disability, and specifically related to the right to health, education and work, in terms of inclusion. However, in relation to physical activity and sports, there are deficiencies its implementation. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize what are the perceptions of athletes with disabilities, about the process of sports inclusion, facilitators, barriers and public policies that have been designed and implemented. From the paradigm of Social Sciences, based on the sociology of sport and public policy, a literature review and depth interviews was performed with athletes with physical disabilities, the League of Bogota. The presence of public policy at the national level that develops actions for sport inclusion from COLDEPORTES and the Colombian Paralympic system was identified, however for athletes, these are not clear. The primary support network for sports inclusion remains the family and barriers are related to the imaginary of disability, which generate attitudinal barriers from society.
