Abstract	Shelter orientation in the yellow scorpion Buthus ibericus Lourenço & Vachon, 2004 (Scorpiones, Buthidae) in a Mediterranean-type ecosystem from the southwest Iberian Peninsula. Shelter orientation in Buthus ibericus was investi gated in the southwest Iberian Peninsula. As a result B. ibericus showed a strong tendency to orientate their shelters to the South. No differences were observed between the percentage of refuges occupied by males and females but by adults and inmatures. This type of behaviour may constitute a defence against predation or be aimed to avoid water entrance and flooding in the refuge. Revista Ibérica de Aracnología ISSN: 1576 9518. Dep.
