| Abstract | The Hydrographic Basin of the river La Vieja, for its characteristics, is considered to be nacional as a regional unit of great importance, which has been highly impressed by different activities already be of presentation of wealth and services like productive activities given in the zone. Is due to this, in the face of increasing resource demand, has started the need of implement new metods that will allow for an internal management of the hidric resource through its protection and conservation for the purpose of the Plan for Management of the Hydrographic Basin, did by CRQ, CARDER, CVC, y Parques Naturales Nacionales, IDEAM y GTZ, with the purpose of establishing strategic models that will allow an integral management between the productive sectors like the farming and pecuary, when the livestock have a high percentage inside the Basin with 35.84% of coverage in grass. The process used in the present job, consisted of doing a characterization of the zone and of the productive process of the bovine livestock farming across tools as surveys semi - constructed in the livestock lands and secundary information gathered in different institutions and bibliographical sources. The above mentioned process, it allowed to identify that the bovine livestock farming brings harmful effects on the soil due to the damage caused by intensive shepherding, and at the same time it affects notably the water sources that abound in the zone since in the main they do not rely on any type of protection that should contribute to the reduction of the pollution and to the increase of her capacity of storage. However, there is highlighted the existence of livestock producers, who have implemented technologies as the silvopastoreo that they do of the bovine production a system environmental more sustainable. The formulation and analysis of the results of the project, allowed to identify and to prioritize strategies and at the same time to raise recommendations, which can offer to the producers the possibility of applying integral measures of production and conservation of the hidric resource , where the participation and interinstitutional investigation, at the same time as the existing regulations as for the livestock production and the water resource, they fulfill an important role to the moment to develop actions directed to the investigation and to the participation of territorial, environmental, academic actors and of the civil society, in terms of conservation. |
