Abstract	Publications regarding intertextuality are available in great numbers, however, much of what has been studied is related to intertextual typologies found in literary texts. In this research a different approach is proposed, since we aim to investigate aspects not found in the classificatory propositions within literary texts by Genette (1982), Piègay_Gros (1996) e Sant‘Anna (2003) and also in more recent works by Koch, Bentes and Cavalcante (2007) about assorted textual genres the purpose being to contribute with intertextual research, thus emphasizing the importance of this phenomenon in the construction of meaning of a text, specially in verbal-visual texts. One such contribution of this publication is to go beyond establishing criteria for the classifications of intertextual manifestations in verbal-visual texts since the greater goal of this publication is to investigate whether the derived intertextuality can be redefined beginning at the insertion of co-presence relations in derivatives. Mainly, we test the hypothesis that different linguistic and visual resources responsible for allusions can be citations or references. We also investigate the hypothesis that citations and references and allusions end up being strategies towards the author's bigger goal of establishing parodies. Lastly, we demonstrate that some comic strips and cartoons maintain a type of paraphrase relationship among themselves. The body of this research is comprised of verbal-visual texts published on the Internet such as comic strips and cartoons wherein it is investigated how intertextual relationships are manifested in these texts that belong in the circulation of informative text in the media. Up to this point the analysis has found that explicit and implicit co-presence intertextuality such as citation and allusion are important strategies, whether isolated or simultaneous, to the construction of parodies.
