| Abstract | Cloud computing reflect a new way in consuming and using IT infrastructures and IT resources. When adopting cloud computing, users are required to dismantle their current technologies, transferring the control of their IT infrastructures and data over to third party (cloud service providers). This is a distinctive departure from other information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) that has penetrated the market to date. This study reviewed and synthesizes the view of past literatures on cloud computing adoption, and suggests critical factors that need to be properly addressed by the adopting organizations leading to successful embracement of the cloud technologies. Consequently, a conceptual framework is proposed. The framework is demonstratively derived from the reviewed literature and has the potential to shed new light in the current state of knowledge on cloud computing adoption and implementation. |
