| Abstract | The importance of adherence to the control and prevention of clinical complications and of decreased mortality in hypertensive patients, linked to the need of subsidies to choose the appropriate tool to search for adherence, led to the search to methods of adherence that have been used in the last decade. Through integrative literature review of studies published between 2002 to 2012, held in the databases Medline, ScienceDirect, Lilacs and SciELO, 57 articles were selected, from which were identified 14 different types of indirect methods isolated and 10 different combinations of these. Therefore that the tools available to measure adherence have limitations and that there is an ideal method. Before that, the combination of methods is presented as an alternative to increase the accuracyof results. Thus, it is highlight , the need for research that will develop or adapt tools to mensure the adherence to treatment of the hypertensive population. |
