| Abstract | Investment funds considered ethical or socially correct have as their objective, beyond the search for a good yield for the applicators of financial resources, the investing possibility to contribute, without additional responsibility, with partnerenvironmental causes. The adhesion to the ethical and the funds are increasing in the whole world and are a trend in Brazil, that is an emergent country. The Bank of Brazil, inserted in a global market, launched, in December of 2005, the changeable income BB Action Index of Enterprise Sustainability, that possesses in its composition socially responsible companies, who are part of the Index of Enterprise Sustainability of the São Paulo Stock Exchange Bovespa. This work looked for to disclose the adhesion on the part of the customers of the institution Bank of Brazil to the investment fund BB Action Index of Enterprise Sustainability, through the analysis of the increment of the applications in the fund in the state of Santa Catarina, since its launching until the end of April of 2007, and also it looked for to know the profile of the applicators of the investment fund. The research to the applicators of the fund disclosed aspects on as the investors had knowledge about the fund, which the vision of the applicators on considering themselves consuming socioambientally correct, which were the knowledge of the social matrix of the fund on the part of the applicators when of the adhesion to the investment product and, also, which is the possibility of the investors to open hand of part of its financial profits for the application of its resources in a socially responsible investment fund.
