Abstract	Abstract1-Aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazole-5-carbaldehydes and 1-aryl-4-chloro-1H-imidazole-5-carboxylic acids reacted with sulfur(IV) fluoride to give, respectively, 1-aryl-4-chloro-5-difluoromethyl- and 1-aryl-4-chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-1H-imidazoles.
