| Abstract | Intimate partner violence is a social phenomenon that influences not only the couple at odds but also all other members of the family. The children exposed to this violence are subjected to a stress fuI environment exposure that can cause developmental, social, and psychological problems. However, the effects of physical domestic violence on the physical health and wellbeing of children have so far received little attention from the scientific community. Thus, studies published remain scarce and afflicted by several methodological issues which limit the results. The main objective of the present research is therefore to examine the relationship between exposure to physical domestic violence and several physical health problems of children aged 41 months on average while controlling for important characteristics of the mother, child, and family. Possible interactions between variables are also examined. |
