| Abstract | VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) has grown significantly but that would still have weaknesses in QoS (Quality of Service) compared with PSTN (Public Switched telephone Network). This is mostly caused by use codec is not in line with capacity of network and problems in IP network that used that will eventually cause a delay, jitter, and packet loss. Therefore, the technology developer VoIP looking for ways to cover deficiency, by creating various protocol such as SIP, H. 323. MGCP and codec like G. 711, G.723 .1, G.726 , G.728 729 and others who aims to improve the quality of QoS in VoIP. The purpose of final project is to examine and analyze performance by comparing QoS variation codec G. 711, G.723 .1 and G.726 in VoIP network based-SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) build in FEB-UKSW, with the parameter QoS is Throughput, delay, packet loss, jitter. In this research will be determined codec that best to be used in internal and external communication with a result of the measurement QoS to see the results on the value of throughput, delay, jitter, packet loss. Communication VoIP are performed consisting of internal and external communication. Internal Communication includes simulation hardphone to PC and PC to PC communication. External Communication includes simulation hardphone to external PC and PSTN to PC communication. From the result of the research, in general findings suggest that codec G. 711 have the best quality for internal network and external communication by producing minimum delay, jitter, packet loss. |
