| Abstract | A Universidade deve propiciar condicoes de desenvolvimento tanto da cultura profissional como da geral. A pesquisa objetivou descrever e comparar o envolvimento cultural de ingressantes e concluintes de um curso de Psicologia de uma Universidade privada da periferia de Sao Paulo, sendo 17 iniciantes (G1) e 19 concluintes (G2). Foram usados: um Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido (TCLE) e um instrumento sobre vivencia cultural. Os resultados mostram que leitura, teatro e cinema foram as tres atividades mais exercidas por G1 e G2, entretanto, no todo houve variabilidade distinta nos grupos e nao houve correlacao com significância (r s=0,48, p The University should provide conditions for development of the professional culture and the general culture. The goal of the research was to compare the cultural involvement of students in the first and last year in a Psychology’s undergraduate course in one private University at a suburban neighborhood of Sao Paulo. In the study participated 17 sophomore (G1) and 19 senior (G2) students. The instruments used were: a Free Informed Consent Term (TCLE) and the Cultural Experience measure.
